I finished reading Imperial Commando: 501st tonight and, call me crazy but there are lots of things in there I recognized in my own work.

One of the things is Karen introducing the fucking bandanna as one accessory for a Mandalorian. Described as worn tied around  the head, just like in this LJ icon. It was Mij Gilamar, though.

I found the stream of ideas that got me writing into the Clone Wars in the first place and developed a few themes into this part. After getting the whole post-military, commando action done in the previous one, this time I'm going back to Bard'ika and his relationship with Anakin and Ahsoka. I found the publisher's summary for Imperial Commando: 501st and got a feeling of deja-vu. All I could think of was CfM and how close to the canon it was. When the book is out and people stumble on What it takes they will probably think I got inspired from that crappy summary.
